Hello and welcome to another Graphic Monks article. In this article I will be teaching you a very easy effect you can add to your Photo's or even a Sig. Today we will be using the following image to add the Romantic Effect:
Okay now if your finished drooling lets get on with it.
Firstly open up your image in photoshop make sure it doesn't have too much blue in it for this effect to work properly. Now we want to make a copy of the background layer so hit Ctrl+J to duplicate. Okay now with that duplicated layer selected in the layers panel you need to select the Channels tab like so:
Now click on blue and hit Ctrl+I on your keyboard that will invert your blue channel. Then click on RGB and then click back to Layers and you should have this:
Ok now I want you to change the Blending Mode of that layer to Overlay and set the Opacity around 70% with will give you our final result:
I realise this is only a basic technique but it can add a little bit of feel to your Photo's or Sigs. I hope you enjoyed this quick article and I hope you might use this little effect for your work.
